From Freelance to Company
By Shalom | June 25, 2007
WebTov used to be just me.
Actually there was no “WebTov” just me doing freelance SEO and SEM consulting from my home in Israel. Things were good and clients were happy, but things were about to change. Word of mouth was enough to have my phone ringing non-stop. At first I wasn’t interested in expanding my opportunities with new clients. I had learned the industries that I marketed to and I was very comfortable with my position and strategic business relationships. However, many of the people who approached me were being sent by either friends or other people that I worked for. For many, SEO and SEM seemed like magic, and although many companies and individuals were filled with great organic ambitions, most felt that it was hard to employ an SEO or SEM management company due to a lack of trust; really the natural reponse to “magic”. Plus as a company if you shop around for an SEO company or SEM management firm you will come across many different price ranges and a list of services that don’t mean much to someone who lacks basic knowledge of internet marketing technical terms. Therefore it’s better to just find someone trusted through someone you trust.
Word of mouth marketing – better than any PPC campaign.
Eventually after a year of turning potential clients away, I started WebTov. The first ever Kibbutz owned and operated Internet Marketing and Web Development Company.
Defintion of “WebTov” : Web-Tov (Tov hebrew word for Good), Good Web.
Gotta love the Hebrish!
